Cookies on These Pages
The ledger’s own features work without advertising cookies or stored reading profiles.
What cookies and browser storage do
Cookies are small values a website can ask a browser to retain and send with later requests. Local storage and session storage are separate browser mechanisms for retaining information. They can support useful preferences, but can also be used for tracking.
The static pages and script supplied for this ledger do not set cookies, use local storage or session storage, or include analytics and advertising code. They do not store a history of the articles you read.
Features in this ledger
| Feature | Information used | Persistence |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile menu and regional tabs | Current open or selected state | Current page memory only |
| Scroll reveals | Whether an element enters the viewport | No stored reading record |
| Message preparation | Text you enter and its review | Current page memory; no site-managed draft storage |
| Copy and .txt download | The prepared message, only after your action | Your clipboard or downloaded file, under your control |
Your browser may cache site files or restore form content using its own settings. Caching is not the same as this site creating an advertising profile. Downloaded messages and clipboard contents can remain after you close the page.
Hosting and separately provided controls
The description above concerns this website’s own static code. Hosting, security infrastructure or separately provided site controls may have their own necessary storage behaviour. Any consent control presented separately should explain its preferences and persistence. Optional technologies must not be activated before any legally required consent.
Reading the ledger and using its local message tool do not require optional tracking. This page does not treat continued browsing as consent to advertising or analytics.
External websites
Source references are ordinary links, not embedded external players or tracking widgets. When you follow a source link, the destination’s own cookie and privacy policies apply. An email link opens your configured email application and is subject to that service’s settings.
Your controls and questions
You can inspect, block or clear site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Clearing browser data does not automatically delete a downloaded text file, an email you sent or a copy held by your email provider. Manage those items separately.
